In 1982, the 29th April was declared International Dance Day, and since then has been celebrated worldwide. To mark this occasion, the Centre national de littérature / Luxembourg Literary Archive is delighted to share a message by dancer and choreographer Anne-Mareike Hess:
Everything starts and ends with body — holding memories, emotions, and knowledge that cannot be erased, cannot be silenced. Feared by some, celebrated by others, the dancing body makes the invisible visible and connects immediately from body to body. In a world shaken by conflict and division, dance remains a force of resistance, and freedom. Keep on dancing!
