Authors' private libraries

 

Authors' archives entering the CNL often include their private libraries.They may contain almost the entire collection of books owned by the author in question, or they may have been previously sorted by the family. Signed and annotated books of Luxembourgish and foreign authors are of the greatest interest to us. They might turn out to have particularly impacted the writing of, or the topics dealt with by, the author, and will thus be preserved.

This in order to reconstitute, on the one hand, the process of creation of an author and, on the other hand, to detail the elements having influenced the author.

Some of these libraries are made up of around 20 books, while others exceed a thousand volumes. Please find below the list of private authors' libraries located at the CNL and which have been cataloged so far:
